    I confess I'm a bigger Brittany Murphy fan than she probably deserves. She often picks terrible roles and that's hurt her career. But then she's also been in stuff like Girl Interrupted and Sin City, and she's awesome in those movies. (Not to mention Seinfeld.) I think she's ridonculously cute. Plus, I love her accent - her real one, anyway.


    I don't know what this is that she's speaking here but it ain't Irish. And it's not *that* far off from how she usually sounds either. It actually sounds to me like she's attempting to speak more properly than she usually does, trying to hide that working class Jersey accent she's usually got. I don't know why, because her voice is one of the best things about her.


    She's also always a little loopy, not just here, as this video proves:

    I think she was fucking brilliant in Girl, Interrupted, hilarious in Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her laugh is adorable.


    I'm going to say nerves, a soupcon of crazy and maybe just a whiff of something illegal.

    I wouldn't say Irish. It sounds more like she's putting on an awful British accent. And forgetting about it occasionally. Apparently her husband is British, so she can blame it on that?


    The guest who came on after her began the interview in a thick Irish brogue which had Ferguson struggling to keep it together before he dropped it.

    I'm sorry, more importantly, why the hell is Ryan Tate writing an post about Brittany Murphy's ''Irish'' accent?

    Have you heard an Irish accent Ryan? Have you been to Ireland?

    Murphy is nuts as fuck but you just come off sounding....exactly the same after this.


    This is an Irish accent. Maybe like, use it? For like, reference? (That's like, an American , like, inflection?

    There's a difference in accent between North (Belfast) and South (Dublin). He's Dublin, with the distinct "t"s....

I had no idea, what with growing up on the northside of Dublin and all and having lived in the city for most of my life and oh, being a human being aware of the fact that there is a distinct difference between '' North'' Ireland (Not just Belfast! That's why it's called the 6 counties!) and ''South'' (Not just Dublin! That's why it has what's called a ''Landmass'' and '' 26 counties''.)


    But really, tell me more!

    That's an irish accent? It sounded more like she had her jaw wired shut for weight loss, or had too many botox shots around the mouth. But I wouldnt describe it as an accent per se.

    @zkemeny: As far as I know, Botox cannot be used around the mouth. It paralyzes muscles. You would have a heap of trouble if your mouth got paralayzed. Although most of my family wishes mine were.
