Facebook Killer: 'I Feel Like Killin Some1'

Then charge for deluxe accounts, ones that get your profile a more prominent look, so all the famewhores in there will pay for it.
Add a habbo-like graphic enviroment were you have to pay for any pixelated piece of shit you want to add to your "dorm".
Anyway, if FB does all this, I'm suing their asses, and you're all my witnesses!

When you had to be a college student to get on it. When the email saying "ZOMG, our school was just added!" raced around campus.
Now my fucking aunts and uncles and family-friends-we-haven't-seen-in-10-years are always friending me.
Go get your own social networking site.

It doesn't matter how cool your PHP script is, even what brand. You simply can't rely on a community of self-interested plebs to make anything worthwhile. It's all about you.
Joel Stein, a boring LA times writer said something worthwhile for once in his life:
"Not long ago, very few people got their writing published, and those people were often paid for it. Now everybody can type about themselves online, and "25 Things" has finally established writing's Internet Age value: You actually have to pay to get read. And the payment is wading through other people's boring writing about themselves. This isn't how writing works. This is how talking works."
"We need to reestablish the barrier for writing in the first person, limiting it to jailed civil rights leaders, little girls hiding from Nazis and me."
The site has 175 million plebs self-disclosing their personal details. Formerly, people in intelligence and corporations would find this information invaluable. Now we know so much about each other's lives we have come desensitised.
Intellectualism as we know it is fucked. No one can stand to read someone else's writings unless it's a conspiracy theory or some evangelist's airport prolefeed.

Way to ruin my future, Facebook.

maybe your take on facebook comes down to the people you want to associate with, online or off, and how physically far away from them you are - because now, suddenly, after years in the wilderness, facebook has me back chatting with people who have common interests and better yet is motivating me to get back to the person I once was. so all you facebook haters? you can just suck it - if there is a downside I haven't seen it yet.

The 'net is not different from the real world: you can have a great idea but if nobody pays attention you're SOL.
FB has had a great run, becoming more popular than even better networks have, yet the incompetent people involved in it are literally destroying it.
Soon there wont be no FB, because there's not going to be any money to keep the light on in there.

And that applies whether you're young or old.

That said, I really don't understand how Facebook is getting anything like commensurate value from me in return. From my perspective, it's like gas for nickel, and a quarter for beer.
From their perspective, this is all service and no charge (making Zuckerberg the opposite of Ticketmaster?)

Facebook talent scouts will be coming by. "Thank you for your loyalty, susiegeek, SIEG HEIL!" You have passed the test! You get to be "MODERATOR"! Now you can egotrip, all because you stuck up for me on valleywag!
Zuckerberg made facebook, he makes the rules and is gatekeeper of the widget economy. You are an example of the intoxicating power he has over sheep. Now go back on facebook and get in the pen where you belong.
Painful reality. Facebook is "elitist" when you're inside and it's private, AKA the "kool kid scene". However from my perspective your so-called privacy protects me and googlebot from your ineptness and drivel.
Zuckerberg enables murderers.

I'm sure if will be called "FriendBook" or something stupid like that.
