it's funny, I only knew of Levar Burton from his appearances on $25,000 Pyramid, usually following a dirty double-entendre couplet from Nipsey Russell..
Here's a bit of trivia for you on LeVar Burton. Guy's a total dousche nozzle. At an even in Atlanta a few years back he was asked for ID when trying to write a check and flipped the frak out over it. Maybe if he had put an air filter over his eyes.........
I'm finding it slightly more offensive that Levar is Tweeting from a FUNERAL??????? granted, it's a spectacle of epic proportions, but seriously, put the fucking cell phone down, please.
@shag_carpet_bomb: Not to rationalize on his behalf, but it's not like he did it at Forest Lawn in front of the family; he did it at a 20,000 seat arena, possibly even in the parking lot before or after.
Feldman's Wikipedia page (currently) has an image of him at '89 Oscars wearing a Jackson-esque ensemble. What's the deal with this? Is Feldman wearing clothes that were gifted to him by MJ? The more I see of this, the more it confuses me.
Also, the woman behind him and to the left seems as mystified as Burton and myself.
@Senator Sully: I believe during Feldman's "music career" he not only aped the dress but musical style of Jackson. Since Jackson's death he's been spotted wearing Jacko inspired clothes, today being hopefully the end.
I get that it's fame-whoring to a large extent, but how close were the two in actuality? Did Jackson groom Feldman with regards to music and styling? Feldman must have felt he had some sort of entitlement or permission to get away with that.
@Senator Sully: I thought the Coreys (or maybe just Feldman) were sort of the precursors to Macauley Culkin, no? I mean, as far as young people MJ spent an unusual amount of time with.
@Senator Sully: Corey has admitted that he had self esteem problems as a kid and latched onto MJ as a role model, which explains the imitation. Then they had a falling out after 9/11 because apparently MJ wouldn't offer him a ride out of the city or something. Corey defended MJ on Larry King during the 2005 trial but still seemed bitter about the falling out. Yeah, I know way too much about that.
Given all that, the MJ garb here is kind of oddly touching to me.

Or chutzpah.
Yeah, on second thought... it's chutzpah.
