Yay for the return of Cher! Love her. She's normally not a real person, just some sort of raven-haired anime character who began the whole autotune craze during those 90's rave years, but she's a really great actress. And it'll be good to see her on screen again. Now, Aguilera...I dunno sweets. A couple theatrical tour dates does not a movie musical maven make. This could either be a decidedly lovely pairing, or a tired, sad, drag show from Vegas.
@friendlynerd: @xhack: And The State, as well. This is like the third year in a row all the former cast members have been saying that it's coming out on DVD.
@ShanghaiLil: I hate to play the role of contrarian, but the greatest stage direction was "As the castle burns, the bud on the roof bursts open into a giant chrysanthemum" from My Giant (originally from Strindberg's A Dream Play).
Scotland, PA is amazing. As is that Hamlet with Ethan Hawke (Blockbuster! Coca-cola vending machines and ghosts!). Baz Luhrman's R+J brought us Lovefool and some pretty images. And you know what? 10 Things I Hate About You and O aren't that bad, either.
So bring on these modern updates of Shakespeare. I'll take these movies over some stuffy Kenneth Branagh bullshit any day.
@Heywoodjablome: I really want you not to be kidding. Please do not be kidding. I have no one with whom to discuss Carly's alcoholism, the return of Roseanna, and the fact that I think I actually want Meg and Damian to get it on.
@DahlELama: I've watched CBS "stories" off an on for about 25 years. It's a shameful addiction. I just recently got back involved in Y&R and As the World Turns. I was quite dismayed to realize that Holden is still the same, but Lily is some new chickie, and Carly, the slutty, man-stealing, Carly is now a drunk? *sigh* When will they ever learn?
Also, how can they cancel Guiding Light how?! That show's been on for like 180 years. Seriously. My grandmother listened to Guiding Light on the radio. On. The. Radio. Yeah, bastards.
