The only thing lamer than hipsters is wasting your time hating them. Hate the frat boy khaki-clad date-raping twats who piled themselves up like so much apocalyptic cordwood in the hallways of Bear Sterns or Lehman Brothers: they're the ones who set Rome on fire. @johnnypotatoes: Thanks for your interest. I'm not saying he's not funny (though achieving a book deal from a somewhat buzzy Tumblr site does not qualify him as funny). Maybe he more than mildly amusing, I've never seen his act so I can't say either way. All I'm saying is -- and yes, it is my opinion as I post with my full name, johnnypotatoes -- is that that Tumblr ... is profoundly not funny.

Anyone can pay them $300 per level class and by the time you reach $1,500 in fees you have won the chance to perform on stage beneath a supermarket in the ass-end of Chelsea. Ooo-la-la! Also, awards? You mean those ECNY awards that everyone who votes in is also nominated in and everyone "wins"?

And book deal? Really? Have you seen the quality if crap being pushed out? What did he get? $15,000? Break out the Brandy.

Sorry folks, this guy is not funny and this book will rarely be bought at retail.

It's quite disappointing to learn that the same small clique of NYC comedy folks is "behind" stuff like this.

And as someone who has unfortunately seen his "act" more times than I wanted to at group shows, the guy is not funny and has the air of someone with nepotism and a trust fund behind his career. Meaning he's not funny. Which means he gets a deal!

Wonder why publishing is dying? Stop transcribing the thoughts you get while staring at your belly-button, yo!
