    @unfriended:I think what upset her wasn't the sudden fame so much as being championed and hyped up, and thinking that for once she was finally going to succeed, and then in the end, once again, losing out to a gang of chavs in tracksuits.

    That's life in Britain these days. The chavs always win.

    @Flashman: My understanding is that she first had an off stage meltdown and then lost, apparently because the story of her meltdown turned the voters off.


    In any case, something's wrong with this woman, which should be obvious from the way she looks. I never understand people who say we shouldn't judge people by their looks. If you look maladjusted, you either really are maladjusted or you are a hipster. Turns out she is not a hipster, so there.

    @unfriended: Ordinarily I would agree with you. But Ms. Boyle has some sort of mental health issue for which she has been on public assistance for decades. The producers of the show should be screening for that sort of thing and bear some responsibility in this.

    @Tart of Darkness: yes, she lacks a certain sense of entitlement that is all the rage these days. i mean, she reacts as though there is something unnatural and destructive about the media's intense and intrusive fixation on her.
