    it is true though. i've never signed up for anything related to the obama campaign, white house, health care, etc. and i do receive a few emails a week from team obama. major garrett is an idiot, but from my own experience, he seems to be right about this one.

    I got the email. I never signed up to receive one. Never left a comment at White House website. Never sent an email.

    It's obvious they got my address from someone, somewhere. In my opinion, it qualifies as Government Spam. Lots cheaper than Government Cheese.

    At 508 EST on FOX News, Garrett said that he had permission from several people to disclose their e-mail, but Axelrod does not seem as interested in seeing the e-mails now that they aren't on camera. This isn't an exact quote, but it's close enough.

    @Niko Bellic: Well, Major Garrett was on camera. Axelrod wasn't. Garrett works for FOX so I suppose that he can get camera time whenever he has something to say. He was on air talking about the press conference.

    @ChillbearLatrigue: Technically, Axelrod didn't ask for the names. Gibbs did, probably just thinking on his feet responding to Garrett's impromptu question. I could be wrong since all i have to go on is this clip but i don't think Gibbs actually consulted Axelrod prior to answering Garrett.

    It's drop dead stupid easy to make an accusation that someone received an email they never asked for. I mean I almost have to give Major credit for trying to slam the administration by using something neither of them can easily prove to be true or untrue.

    I can say with 100% certainty that I was on Obama's campaign PAC email list (I have since unsubscribed a long time ago) and I am on the WhiteHouse.gov mailing list and I never received Axelrod's email.

    Hi folks! I'm the one who made the comment about Axelrod spamming every govt employee.

    I'd like to humbly retract that statement since all I have is anecdotal evidence, but my contacts (yes... contacts... that will cover up the fact that it's actually friends and family...) across the government all report getting that email. n=about 10, from the DoL, DoJ, HHS (well, duh), State et al.

    Sorry, no contacts at Interior--not even sure if anyone actually works there.

    @thegreatfratsby: Addendum--not verified as fact--apparently, "many" govt employees are signed up for "White House Updates" newsletters. My source claims that he never subscribed, take it as you will.

    Did anyone catch Garrett's passive aggressive swipe at the legitimacy of Obama's Presidency by referring to him as "Senator Obama" at the 1:50 mark? Cause if you weren't born in the US you can become a Senator, but not the President Get it...Get it.

    Also note Gibbs' "can you fucking believe this ass clown?" smirk/glance to aid off camera/laugh at the 1:43 mark.

    I enjoy Major Garrett's "OMG, how can you even say that!!?!" face. He deploys it with the accuracy (and frequency) of a 13 year old girl at a sleepover.

    Also, why can't the White House tell me how this nameless person got on the Death List?! Go through all of your sources and search for "[name redacted by Major Garrett]". Have you no decency, Gibbs?
