those kids are getting Michelle's tall genes. Obama is 6'2" and Michelle 5'11" and probably in heels, Malia looks like she's at least 5'4" next to them. I think i know what sport she'll be playing at Sidwell.

My worry for Malia is that she's at just the right age to buy into all of this celebrity nonsense, all of the attention. Young enough to still be very moldable, but old enough to have some concrete sense of what's going on. Chelsea was just old (and awkward) enough to not really let it sink in. But I fear that Malia may become something of an unholy celebrity-socialite-wannabe annoyance.

I hope I'm wrong.

@Richard: Naw.. I think it's the age... a dear pal of mine has 4 (FOUR!) girls, and as each one has hit that age, they've gone thru this "look at me" stage. Performing even when there was no audience. It's actually pretty hilarious to see them wash the dishes and pretend they are on food network.

@MidTwix: Right. But I worry that her "look at me" stage is never going to go away because it's being constantly indulged (encouraged?) by photo shoots like this and whatever camera presence will surround her for the next 8 (one hopes!) years of her life.
