@Mary Mouse: But he was on Letterman a few years ago and walked across Broadway (on a wire, I mean), and presumably he had been on the guest lineup for a little while, and I don't remember pandemonium.

Though I guess going from the Ed Sullivan Theater to Flash Dancers isn't as big a deal as ... whatever he may be planning now.
