    Foster, I hate to get all Christmasy on your ass at this early date, but I'm going with "A Dog Named Christmas" and here's why.

    First of all, you yourself have a very unusual first name, do you not? So I think you can allow a dog to be named Christmas, yes?

    Secondly, anything that shows service dogs in action, is super cool. I believe this ultimately furthers the idea that animals are good and look what they can do, so therefore we need to treat them well, etc.

    Third. I read "Marley & Me" and it wasn't bad, but the movie was just a horrific Jennifer Aniston Is Adorable Fashion Show, like all of her movies, so anything that's not that movie is better by leaps and bounds.

    I do agree with you on the method acting-over-the-top acting situation. I'm hoping it's not exploitive, but instead shows how others live and manage each day. [wow, did I really just write this?]...Am I still on Gawker?

    @Banjo-Sea Kitten: On the dvd copy I saw, Jennifer Aniston's post-partum depression was really not cute. I don't remember how they solved that problem. Perhaps Marley stole some Xanax from the neighbour, and for once, didn't eat it?

    @son of spam: this reminds me of a Christmas card my friends sent one year of their dog doing this with a Santa hat on her head and it said, "Oh Crap, It's Christmas." Maybe everybody did that one that year...but I thought it was funny.

    @ParahSalin: Hopefully the owner gets beat-up at the dog park, too, for putting that contraption on his dog. Is picking up poo with a plastic bag really THAT much more of a hassle such that this thing looks like a good idea?

    I'm not sure Ellen's quirky, dance-o-manic, big-eyedness translates well on the big screen. I seem to remember a pretty failed film of hers called Mr. Right where she, um, played a straight woman who didn't want to be married to a very um, male, male. A poorly cast Bill Pullman. Yeah, uh, shitballs. Neil Patrick Harris she is not. Adoring fan of Aretha Franklin, perhaps.
