This seems unfair. Politico's Ben Smith is awesome and covered that campaign better than anyone.

I don't think the chin is as much a problem as the ginormous forehead. It's pretty impressive.

I wholeheartedly endorse ignoring Politico, especially the poorly informed, batshit insane ranting happening in the comments sections.... unless you just need somewhere to go to feel intellectually superior.

@PoliTacky: Politico is written in approximately the same tone in which supposedly "in the know" staffers spread supposedly insider information in DC bars that is really just empty speculation and whisper down the lane bullshit.

@J.D.Regent: I absolutely LOVE "whisper down the lane bullshit!" Forevermore, that term will be how I refer to Politico.

A goatee would do wonders for his chin definition.

@WinnAndTonic: I think not. I recommend a full beard. Otherwise, he's going to have the meaty sides of his face highlighted by his goatee.

@Mama Penguino: thank you. a goatee only places a weak jaw in relief (as I diagnose it, his chin is fine, it's his doughy jawline that needs covering). A full beard would also make him appear friendlier and would balance out that enormous noggin.

@J.D.Regent: Total Makeover! He needs to do something, too, about that monumental forehead. Not bangs, obviously, but perhaps a festive headband? He could rent out the space for advertising!

Robert Gibbs looks exactly like the archetypical guy-behind-the-guy -- grim, overfed and plotting your imminent destruction.

The story says Gibbs is 37 years old. If that's how hard work and ambition age a man, I'll keep my job at the Kwik-E-Mart, thank you.
