Oh, why couldn't they have opened the pool, back when Ana Marie was the Wonkette? Few would've been as qualified to see, if Laura was into ass-fucking.
"Throwing avowedly partisan web sites into the mix is, well, interesting."
I hope it does turn out interesting, but it's not like there weren't any partisan print media outlets in the mix before. Sure, the WSJ, FOX, and the Examiner may not claim to be "avowedly" anti-Obama or pro-Republican, but we all know that's BS. I think it's nice to have some actual liberal media outlets infitrate the Villager sewing circle.
@Helio: You beat me to it. It's more of an acknowledgment that certain blogs are considered mainstream media. Could right-wing blogs be far behind? That depends on whether any of them decides to get serious, though it would be really, really cool to see somebody from, say, The Drudge Report, ask the President a question at a news conference and get smacked down like the twit he is.
Truth. This reminds me of the NYT policy on the WHPCD. While Howard Kurtz and Nico Pitney and Michael "Da Don" Calderone get to take pictures and get their shits signed by Lil Wayne or Don Draper or whoever they get, NYT reporters have to stay at home. People who think this is a bad idea or is in any way unwise are automatically fucktards.
I think Twitter is one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, but I would have expected the verb form, "tweet," to be the so-called "top word." Isn't Twitter a brand name? At least Google has been turned into a verb. Aren't we celebrating the related human activity that Twitter promotes and not the actual thing? Unless they just think Twitter is the verb. Am I overthinking this? Can we spend the next 20 minutes conjugating?
He looks like any number of frenzied alcoholics I have known.
I remember when they were trying the Orwellian tact of declaring the term "neocon" anti-Semitic. If you can control the language, then you have won the argument.
Also, Likud does not equal Jewish.

@If_I_Had_a_Poodle: No kidding. I already have similar problems with about.com and experts-exchange.com. For anyone who is curious how to exclude specific sites from their Google searches, there are a number of blogs that discuss it. I won't endorse one more than any other, so try [www.google.com] to start with.
Or, as iplaudius points out below, your favorite browser (Firefox) likely offers a host of 3rd-party extensions to exclude unwanted search results.
