Business Class to Switzerland? Oh, the humanity! As someone who spent years flying coach in and out of Cincinatti and Indianapolis may I hear them cry me a river? And not the "good" coach, either. The seats in the back, next to bathroom and galley, that don't recline. #media

Hell, you want a real voice of opposition, you need a loud-assed, smart-mouthed left-wing rag -- and I mean a real left-wing rag, not like Mother Jones. (spit) I mean, c'mon; if you really think the New York Times is a Leftie paper, you've been living under a rock, like those goddamn' Tea Party assholes.

Seriously, all we've got is The Nation. That goddamn' self-serious tome bores the living piss out of me. And they don't even have a friggin' sports page, f'cripesake. I'd love a Leftie version of the New York Post. They're a nasty, rightist screed, for sure, but I love their attitude.

Didn't you all used to have a nice, loud, smartassed Leftie tabloid up there, long ago -- what was it called, PM, or something? #newyorkpost

    The Iranian "revolution"?

Oh, y'mean that National Endowment For Democracy-backed astroturf campaign? The one where some British company shipped in thousands of little portable digital cameras so that we could see all those "viral" videos of what was happening in the streets?

What color was that one, anyway? Green, or something? #iran

Though the charges have since been dropped, but if an American can be arrested for twittering a "revolution", then our government can't really condemn others for cracking down on those in the field.

@Pope John Peeps II: Agreed, but when I first heard of the Madison fellow's arrest, I immediately thought of the shot to our credibility, if we were to condemn other governments for making similar arrests.

It's sort of like when the Bush-era waterboarding story was confirmed. It wasn't even days until comparisons were made to WWII-era convictions for war crimes.

Sure, the charges against Mr. Madison have been dropped, but if we want to be able to encourage social networking as a means to organize, then we can't be arresting people for doing the same thing. #iran

Interesting. But numbers alone arent the only issue. In terms of organizing, sometimes it is just as important to have the "influencers"-- ie, those people who can round up their friends/family/coworkers etc. -- in touch with each other. If twitter helped these "influencers" gain a sense of momentum and round people up, it served a far-reaching purpose.

Well, the editorial agenda here has been crystal clear from the get-go (i.e., "scapegoating").

I have no idea what's going on with this story because: (a) most news outlets have released information that has turned out to be utterly, painfully wrong, and (b) the rest (like Gawker) are pursuing a pro/anti-discrimination agenda.

By the time any truth is uncovered, you will all have lost interest...so as usual, the readers remain uninformed. #media

    Life coach? Life coach?

Pardon me while I laugh until I piss myself. Talk about your totally pointless "professions". Besides, hasn't the recession pretty much done away with bullshit jobs like "life coach"?

Why am I reminded of Michael "Heckuva Job, Brownie" Brown, who attempted to open a security consultancy after being bounced from FEMA after his handling of the Hurricane Katrina response? Talk about some world-class cajones.

Seriously, man... what's the goddamn' deal with these people? They remind me of Gatsby's friends in Fitzgerald's novel -- paraphrasing here -- creating huge messes everywhere they go, then going on their merry way as if nothing happened, expecting someone else to clean up after them. #journalismism

    The operative condition being "money".

Very little -- almost none -- of this effort adds meaning to the world. Or even entertainment.

Local papers, and papers pretending to be national papers, please develop something of a local consciousness on your public instititions. This stuff can be handled by the tabs. #media
