If she wants to be powerful, the governor's job is the last place she should be aiming for. Hell, Arnold came in bearing tons of public support and goodwill, and look at everything he's accomplished.
Is her "helping" John McCain last year suppose to be a blue ribbon item on her CV? Don't quote me on this but I don't think McCain's campaign fared too well in the end did it?
I'm going to start putting every job that I applied but never received an offer on my CV from now on.
Remember now the Repugnants always have a local-option rule. If one of them were to encounter a lynching, say, their postion would be it was democracy in action; the vote being one hundred to one and that one not even a legal voter in this district! Why, it's an outrage some would enfranchise such criminals!
They were able to empower the KKK starting about 1870 by kicking the stone downhill to the states. That's what they mean by States' Rights - unless it's about Marijuana or Same Sex or the Environment or something that cost corporate cash, the states can handle it without pestering the plutocrats.
In a state where the Repugnants are a shrinking minority, with bases in a military center, wealthy retirement neighborhoods, and okie holdouts in the Central Valley, you wonder how it is a state-wide candidate from that party has any chance in California. There is the celebrity factor, which gave us first George Murphy, Reagoon, and even by gawd Shirly Temple, but there have been a string of Repug governors in recent times. It's also the case in New York, the city and the state.
i like this lady. She turned HP around totally. Then she got booted. The next CEO took all the credit for the turnaround, but Fiorina just moved on, didn't hear much complaining. Sounds like a person who just wants to do the job right without fanfare. Didn't vote? What does that have to do with what kind of job she will do? She was probably working 24/7 at HP, couldn't get to the poll!
@hatchetman:Are you kidding? This woman is awful. She screwed HP and then was forced to leave. She got a giant golden parachut for those efforts and then started talking crap during the whole John McCain campaign and was tossed aside by John because of how stupid she was. Please! I really really hope your post was sarcasm.
@rockandhardPL: Fiorina pointing out that Palin doesn't have the experience to run a major corporation was a wise and honest statement. But, indeed, quite stupid when she was campaigning for her ticket.
@Lady Penelope: She was campaigning for her ticket, the straight Fiorella slate. That comment about whether the Wasilly could run a large corporation ran through her mind like this: "You are asking me to downplay the greatest arrow in my csv quiver by agreeing any moron can do the job?"
She had no idea what she was doing there, but it was the only platform around, so she began spouting like you can do in bidness because nobody knows what stock option backdating is. So she trills, oh, the old retread is not against Free Choice (he was) and he's for family leave (he wasn't). She has exactly the same reason for being on the national stage as Meghan McGoon; it's the only circus in town.
Has anyone charted the correlation between eBay's steady decline and Whitman's poll numbers? Should her campaign slogan be "Pay no attention to that collapsing house behind me."

That's why all those awesome liberal Democrats have already passed gay marriage in New York State.
That's why the supermajority in Congress has repealed DOMA and DADT and the President signed it.
I was at the ceremony this morning. It was lovely.
And I told Vice President Biden "The Calla Lilies are in bloom today."*
*Try and figure out THAT arcane reference.
