    Considering the difference in cost of living between London and New York, I'd say that $200K over there would be the equivalent of about $100K over here.

    Plus, remember that BBC kicks ass, not only as a media institution, but as really... anything. Ever. I'd gladly help them out (certainly sooner than GM or AIG), since I was practically raised and educated on their programming.

    @Niko Bellic: Kickass indeed. And a good company to work for, in my experience. The UK/US rate's fluctuated enough recently that I'd have to see the original £ figure to judge if it's fair.

    And while I'm on my soapbox, I'd say £150 per year is a paltry sum to pay for the sort of out-of-sight systemic media enrichment it pays for. School outreach, mentoring, apprenticeships -- not to mention the radio/tv comedy hookup that's incubated some of the more awesome UK comedy teams. And then there's the newsroom gang, who are fantastic. And the entire organization serves as an anchor for the rest of the airwaves, preventing FOX-like quality freefall while chasing ratings.

    Maybe the BBC is like the NHS -- fun to bitch about, but damn you'd be screwed if they went away. #media

    Shoot, I think the SF Chron has a great business plan! Fabulous. They set records the last six months for over a quarter drop in circulation, but they raised the price of the paper 33% on the street, so they claim to be swimming in cash. Eventually there will be one old rich diehard on Nob Hill paying $25K per diem for one each and the only autographed copy of the paper that was the Chronicle. #arguments

    I'd like this so much more Foster had you not led with Peter Jennings. In poor taste. Otherwise, I had never heard the "You're with me, leather" story - OMG. I don't eknow who Chris Berman is but I sort of love him even though I'm sure I'd hate him. Also, I'm glad you included Cris Collinsworth but you forgot one crucial detail about him: HE'S A GAY MANELIST!!

    True story: A friend of mine went to one of those media conferences/awards things where O'Reilly was a speaker/presenter. Anyways, she says he was trying to fuck anyting with a pulse. My friend passed on the chance, but said he eventually succeeded in persuading one of the women my friend knew into go back to his hotel with him. She later asked her how was the sex and my friend said that the woman told her that O'Reilly liked having dildos and strap-ons used on him. She says the woman passed on using either but they did have regular, vanilla sex.

    Since when is O'Reilly an "ass magnet"? A sexual harassment suit with tapes where he talked about hiring a prostitute and offered to scrub a girl's pussy with a falafel doesn't speak to a charming way with the ladies.

    You should replace O'Reilly with Bill Maher who is a player who has far more success with women than O'Reilly as well as being a far superior commentator on the news.
