I came home for Thanksgiving my freshman year and my room was remodeled to look like it belonged in a bed and breakfast. I never recovered. #projectrunway
I really had difficulty remembering if I watched the show last night. The closer we get to Bryant Park, the more bored I am.
Of the parts I remember: Carol Hannah's dress reminded of that maxi dress fad that occurred last spring, I think I saw that particular dress at Old Navy.
Michael Kors WAS unusually pale. His eyebrows were creeping me out.
Lifetime needs to stop beginning the episodes with the generic "oh, we've been whittled down to the best, most talented designers. We've all got to step up" because it's not fucking happening. #projectrunway
Carol Hanna's FUCKING MAXI DRESS THAT THEY SELL AT TARGET was inspired by Palm Beach. Althea had San Tropez and made the one vaguely interesting garment of the night. #projectrunway
I missed the live blog and the episode (though it's DVR'd). I like to read them (live blog and recap) and then watch the episode. The episode always disappoints.
I'm starting to think that every show ever should be live blogged. The quality of the blog is always higher than the show. Esp on Gawker with the great Mr. Hippity in charge. #projectrunway
@BxgrlJeri: Aw shucks, thanks Jeri. But it's the group talent of so many Gawker commenters that makes the quality what it is. (And we miss you - hope you can make it back to one soon!)
I've always thought the same thing as your Mom about Kors. First his stuff is hideous and second it's always in hand me down stores. So how good could it be...really. #projectrunway
@BxgrlJeri: His upmarket line, Michael Kors, is the real deal. It's very well-made (not in China) and well-designed--if you dig a somewhat prim WASP/lady-who-lunches sensibility.
But he also produces two diffusion lines, MICHAEL Michael Kors and KORS Michael Kors. That's the cheaper shmatta that eventually ends up at discount retailers like TJ Maxx and Loehmann's. #projectrunway
@snugbug: Yeah. His upmarket brand is "Bill Blass Light" and the same ladies buy his stuff that bought Blass. The stuff looks good, is well made and sells like crazy. Nothing for Kors to be ashamed of. I have no idea why he even bothers with the lower price lines. #projectrunway
@snugbug: Exactly. I don't shop at those low-end stores and so haven't seen whatever made in China nonsense he's foisting on the hoi polloi. However, the high end stores have some pretty pretty things from the Orange One we wouldn't mind wearing, no, not in the least. #projectrunway
Great summary--maybe the best yet. But I very much liked Milla Jovavich. She didn't hold back, even when she disagreed with the "experts."
One of the designers commented about how Michael Kors's designs are all about attention to detail. Really? Could that be true for his high-end stuff (whatever that is)? It does not at all seem true of his made-in-China menswear at Macy's. I'd rather wear INC. #projectrunway
I missed the live blog last night because I was at a sexy-time sex toy party, but I caught the rerun. There is absolutely no passion or fire in ANY of these contestants. The entire season has felt so lethargic to me, like an old man who can't get himself off the couch. I think it would be best to put PR out of its misery for a few years, let some fresh talent build up, and then start it up again. #projectrunway
I've purchased my ticket aboard the Milla Jovovich LOVE train. She was opinionated and snarky, which is what I want in a guest judge. If I wanted to watch someone with no fashion knowledge look puzzled and say nothing, I'd watch The City. #projectrunway
i LOVED milla. you are way off on that one. she was to the point and very funny. "well, if this was 'Project I Didn't Mind It' then he would win"? hilarious. #projectrunway
@joefuntime: I'm with you on Team Milla. And she made quite possibly the sharpest observation on this season with that comment. This season has actually been "Project I Didn't Mind It" as there has been nothing really fantastic -- nothing that could even imagine it could stand alongside the season 4 dream cast's work let alone against it. I think Heidi's standards have dropped to fit the level of work and Milla called her on it. #projectrunway
