    You're a celebrity and some random blogger insults you. What do you do? Any normal person shrugs it off. When you start punching people, it's because they've pissed you off - and how does one do that unless something they've said has made you emotional?

    @badasscat: I don't think it matters necessarily that he called him a "fag"; he could have used another slur and the outcome might just have been the same. Perez has made a career out of being reprehensibly vicious and it was bound to get his ass beat eventually. I see this attack more as someone giving Perez (who is far from a "random blogger") his just desserts, rather than an isolated, knee-jerk reaction to being called a "fag."

    I cannot stand this guy...and I don't see how him calling Will.i.am(sp?) "gay" and a "faggot" is any different from someone else spewing hate speech either. This guy is probably one of the main reasons the gay community is seen the way that it is by the nation...and he deserved to get beat. I have no sympathy, if anything, the evil side of me wishes he had gotten smacked down harder. The normal side of me is just happy he got beat. :)
