The head of my thesis committee is the hardest working woman I know, including ALL of my public school teacher friends. I sincerely hope she makes in the low six figures. If anyone deserves it, it is her and professors like her.

Silly President, cabinet positions are supposed to go to oil and defense industry hacks with seven or eight figure bank accounts and no academic or policy credentials. Who the fuck are all these eggheads, with their elite book learnin'? IMPEACH!

And by contrast, the majority of the academic workforce - that is, the untenured professors - make anywhere from $15K to $35K. Let the good times roll, you limosine liberals!

@Better to Eat You With: I used to date an NYU professor who made $13k, with no benefits. I provided the money for anti-depressants.

The biggest douche in my class at J-school now works for Politico. I saw his mug offering his super insightful analysis on Headline News one Sunday afternoon (the retard time slot of the Pundit world) and about threw a brick through the TV.

I believe he worked for the Moonie Times before this, so....

Yeah, my career hasn't exactly gotten me on cable news yet, but at least I'm not asked to "win the afternoon."

But liberals do thunder about what business people make and what they "should" make. Why shouldn't their pay get the same going-over?

@Preopsician: Because they're making $300,000 a year for being a world-famous expert who advances human knowledge and you know, does something that actually helps people.

@politecough: You just made my point. Liberals believe that certain people should or should not make a certain amount, based on their "value" to society. Presumably someone has to make and enforce that judgment.

And yet here you are linking to the Politico story, so the authors of this Politico article appear to be following the Politico memo posted on Gawker earlier.

There is a spoken rule that those who speak for the underclass (frosh-sophomore) must be part of it. Oh, how we wailed to learn that Joan Baez tooled around Highway 1 in her XK-E. By the same token, your OB-GYN must be pregnant, and your psychiatrist has to be at least as crazy as that Phoenix mess. It's only fair. Who wants to have a beer with a candidate if she's smarter than you?

I like the $250 kicker for the Letterman appearance fee. As though, that's the fucking straw that breaks the camel's back.

Substitue "executives" for "professors" and you're left with a story about people who, in the business world, would be considered losers. Shit, the janitor makes $93-k.

This story is so supid as to defy commentary
