Isn't being named Kiki grounds enough for being fired? It damn well should be.

Perhaps if she had strung some decorative ivy from that halo she would still have her job. It's the little touches that really make an impression.

One thing I am fascinated with is that she created her own accent to get rid of the Jersey-isms in her speech. She used to talk like a grrrrrl from the mall. She did this on her own through sheer will and TMJ syndrome.

And then I saw Jillian (is that right?) on Project Runway and realized that was what she was doing as well which is why she had that odd habit of clenching her jaw when she spoke. She wasn't up to Martha level, but she's getting there.

I like the half-laugh as she says "media gossip website", and thereafter as she explains the pens she will provide to her minions.

Geesh. Either she has total self-awareness or completely lacks it.

    Now, that's entertainment!

I especially enjoy her blog [www.themarthablog.com] comment, "...In these tough economic times, harmony is essential within the working environment. I must also inform you that we use a great assortment of writing implements from the Martha Stewart crafts line available at Michael's Crafts and Walmart."

Because in these tough economic times, we want to strengthen the economy and increase workplace harmony by buying lots and lots of Martha Stewart Writing Implements. And that's what I intend to do as soon as I finish rolling these pennies...

@TheodoraGoesWild: I have Martha Stewart writing implements. They were actually the best value in colored felt pens the day I was at Michaels.

I used to watch her show until once she was showing how to make fancy guest towels out of plain towels and lace and I realized I was sitting in front of the television watching someone sew.

But I collage a lot in my journal so I do occasionally buy scrapbooking supplies and hers are fairly tasteful and sophisticated comparatively.

But when the dust settles, and we find ourselves on the other side of this mess, Martha will be hailed as a hero for allowing her employees to funnel the money they would have spent on pens to save their homes from foreclosure. I know we lack the perspective to see it now, but let's be careful with the snark lest we say something that can't be taken back.

So when I get fired for doodling blue flowers all over the white furniture it will be for ruining company property and not for using a blue pen? Cool.
