@triplethreat: I disagree. The actor playing him is VERY pretty in an emo, girly-looking cutesy way. And now with facial hair and a side part--he's a hot hipster mess.

And he's as close to the actual book character of Aaron (stinky, dread-locked...stupid) as television will allow.

Nice try, Alex, but I miss Richard. I don't think you have his uniquely passionate/stunned take on this show. Short post. Could it be that perhaps you don't really want to sum up a poorly acted, crappy-but-flashy, teen soap with ridiculous plot twists and wildly inconsistent character development?

What does "RISD" stand for?

I am ashamed to know that in the books, Nate actually DOES start courting Jenny, temporarily...he is enamored with her in a haze of pot smoke and at the size of her enormous double D's (seriously....that's one thing they eliminated from the series, Jenny's huge, frustrating breasts).

but i must say that scarf dude's answer to serena's probing was so realistic and brilliant. the whole "i could explain to you why i keep a trailer load of girls at bay, but the fact is that you're either going to deal with my bullshit or not and stop looking for an excuses" line was so realistic and undermining, i nearly howled at my computer screen. and like most stupid women, serena fell for it hook, line and sinker.

the actual statement for future use is below:

"I could explain who Tamara is and why she was at my apartment last night, but the fact is, you feel something or you don't. If you're looking for an excuse to keep us apart, that's fine." -Scarf boy

I think the true reason Dan was upset was that he discovered Nate was cheating on him with his sister. I must say, Rufus has to be the worst TV dad I've ever seen. I mean come on man, you 15 YR old daughter drops out of school to home school and you don't go, "hey sweetie, there are fashion high schools you can go to". I also hate the "we are so poor but we live in 5000 SF loft in Brooklyn heights with a killer view of Manhattan on which we pay a $2,500.00 maintenance and my son dresses entirely in J.Crew and Men's Zara and maybe Thomas Pink (for those who don't know, Thomas Pink is freaking expensive)" schtick.

My favorite part of the entire episode was when our brooding boy was writing a letter to Jen and the address was 455 Water Street, um I thought they were supposed to live in Williamsburg?
