In reply to Allow James Brady To Tell You About His Illustrious Career
Some years back, I was new to New York, and worked at a joint for which he occasionally wrote. He had use of a desk which, hilariously, happened to share a cube wall with mine.

Sometimes he'd land there for days on end, then he'd disappear for weeks, I figured landing at some other desk he had the use of.

I always found him to be a friendly old codger to bump into by the coffee. I didn't, at the time, have any idea he was "legendary".

When he was there he'd spend the entire day yapping on the phone to people about his Korea books. Literally all the live long day, and it was a riot. I couldn't figure out when he ever took a moment to write one of his namedrop extravaganzas.

Oh, man. Did he really say that he can't read his own novel without sobbing at the end?
