    My best friend and I saw the Madonna Playboy spread (unfortuate choice of word) hot off the presses when we were 16. We forced her older brother to procure it.


    We were totally grossed out by the pit/leg hair but the bush elicited no reaction. It was a complete non-issue.


    Seeing it 25 years later, I immediately think, "Ewww...shave your snatch!"

    As ginger rant pointed out, it is all a matter of fashion and pop culture shaping our views of what is and what is not attractive. How else can someone go from finding the Madonna spread jealousy-inducing to yuck?


    Sorry if the following is TMI, but after finally succumbing to the shave-your-snatch movement, I landed a totally gorgeous Argentinean lover a couple of years ago. When we got nekkid, he had the reverse JDel/John Rushkin response. He was utterly repelled at the lack of bush. Could not perform for a few weeks until I fixed that. And he was in his twenties, so more likely to have watched recent porn.


    Being a total slut (unlike JDel) I am aware that there are men who can't get off unless you're hairy, and they are SOL with me thanks to laser hair removal. Luckily, I never let the laser get near my ladyparts.
