i once interviewed at dc. i was getting along perfectly with the cute, young dude who started the interview because boss man was missing, somewhere. half hour in, this sad case pale imitation of alec baldwin in glengarry glenn ross comes bolting into the room, completely disruptively, disregards any pleasantries and immediately SHOUTS at me, "what is your favorite thing about dc magazine?" i answered honestly -- i like their photography, their cadre of photographers is solid (for dc at least). he then BERATED me for a good 20 minutes about how "next time you go on a f'ing interview, maybe you should read the magazine before you come in." so i was like, "ok well i know you're not involved in this but maybe you should pass a message to your edit team to get their heads out of their asses and write something worth reading." psuedo-baldwin ended up stomping out of the room and then me and the other dude had a giggle fit. he gave me his number??? which was like dude no, sorry, your magazine is just too ridiculous for me to consider this proposition.

i have never shared this story before so feel privleged everyone.
