When I was little we used to play "Oscar gowns" with bedsheets. We'd each take turns leaving the room and in five minutes create an Oscar gown with only a sheet. I feel like that's what Christopher keeps doing. And my ten year old Oscar gown would beat the pants off anything he'd ever come up with. #projectrunway
Has anyone heard anything about Season 7? Supposedly it was filming in New York, so maybe it will be better. They started shooting in July-- so I think that would mean the finalists are off making their collections for the Fall 2010 shows that will be in February? Or.... ? #projectrunway
@Lizawithazee: I think the new season will start immediately after this season is over. Probably around Thanksgiving.
I gathered this from an interview I read with Tim Gunn. He said the filming of the next season is finished (except for the final collection showing, which will be in NY Fashion week in Feb), and that it would start right away after this one was done.
It will be in New York, by the way. (Halleluia.) #projectrunway
My highlight of this episode was the moment that I realized that Gordana really looks and sounds like the housekeeper in War of the Roses.
I actually had no one to tell that to but you fine folks. No one I know watches it, or can remember the damn housekeeper from War of the Roses. #projectrunway
I really hate that they don't have a consistent panel of judges. There is no way that the final 5 are the best of the bunch. I cannot believe that Althea and Irina were in the top two. Both of those designs were just ok to me. #projectrunway
Can't we just graduate Irina to her inevitable role as a "designer" of misses separates at JCPenney and be done with this season? The boring challenges and absurd time constraints certainly haven't helped to bring out the best in this group of designers, but I don't think their best would be terribly interesting anyway. Whoever wins this season will have a massive * next to their win. FAIL for Lifetime. FAIL for Bunim Murray. #projectrunway
@BicycleShed: have the time restraints been more absurd than before? Watching the British (or maybe it was the Canadian) Project Runway, they gave the designers like FOREVER to work on their garments. I thought that was absurd since I was so used to the original show giving much less time. #projectrunway
@Helio: I do think there have been more one day challenges than on prior seasons. Think about the "avant garde" challenge this year. Usually, the challenge stands on its own and the designers have at least two full days, if not more. This year it was an add on to some boring beach challenge (wtf?) with no additional time. Anyway, I've not done a scientific study or anything, but I think Bunim Murray cut back on time because they knew their challenges weren't very original or challenging to begin with. #projectrunway
@BicycleShed: Could the massive rush of 1 day competitions be due to the Bravo/Weinstein lawsuit going on during filming and producers' concerns that production would be shut down? #projectrunway
@FreeKitten: Yeah, absolutely. And to be fair to the designers, I'm sure what was going on between Universal and the Weinsteins cast a pall over every aspect of filming. Having said that, I still think they're a bit boring and what they've produced has largely been a snoozefest. #projectrunway
All we need to know about this season is in the last screen grab. Actually, in almost every outfit Heidi has worn this season. But seriously, Mylar bermuda pants? UUUgh. #projectrunway
"... we have people like Logan, Gordana, and Christopher still hanging around like that button on your winter coat that you know, just know, is going to fall off any day now and every day it annoys you but you think, "I can get rid of it tomorrow," so you just leave it there to dangle indefinitely until it falls off in a cab or the gutter somewhere never to be heard from again. They're just like that."
Brilliant. Just brilliant.
From now on, I'm going to refer to designers like that as "loose buttons."
the whole "he's stealing from me"..."no, actually you stole from me" thing was the only clever thing this whole season, and kudos to the editors.
but it's like an amazing performance of Beethoven's 9th while the ship is sinking, distracting but doesn't do a damn bit of good #projectrunway
It drives me nuts every week when they're looking at a dress and everyone is gushing, "The color is gorgeous!" Uh ... it's black. Just like the black dress next to it and the one next to that and ...
