    I hope you all realize that bills are rarely read in their entirety by any given Congressperson. You think Waxman read all of Waxman-Markey, his own bill? Doubtful.


    A few weeks ago at a Newsweek forum here in DC on Obama's energy policy, Rep. Butterfield pointed out that they had passed a cash for clunkers bill that will help reduce our country's dependence on foreign oil....blah blah blah. When someone asked what the specific MPG requirements were for new vehicles, he said, "Oh, I haven't read the bill itself."
