This movie is a modern day camp classic a la Straightjacket or Homicidal. I laughed through the whole thing. It was HYSTERICAL!!

@plasticaisle: Yup, I look at this as Camp (although it could be a Lifetime movie if you took it seriously), and Ali Larter as the Counsellor.

I first saw a preview for the soloist many months ago, and then promptly forgot about it. Meanwhile, commercials for Obsessed are showing up on my TV screen every three seconds. So, assuming I ever saw movies in theaters, which I almost never do, which one would I have thought to see in theaters? Ding ding, Ali Larter wins again.

Also, does anyone else think that chick in Fighting might be the most beautiful woman ever?

@DahlELama: This is the whole problem in that the good films have to be sought out, mined out of the cavernous regions of Inner Earth, while talentless tripe is on display like a bunch of high-flying flags until the movie-going public's subconscious kicks in and they regrettably say "One for Obsessed" at the ticket window. I'm so over these marketing schemes that trick people into going to see bad movies. No wonder we've lost faith in Ho'wood--people only go to the baaaaad ones because they've heard of them.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is the "opening weekend statistic" the distribution arm will come up with for Beyonce's movie: "The biggest open for a pop star movie... evah. Yeah. Move over Jessica Simpson.

On a happier note, I saw The Soloist and it was fantastic. I can't wait to go see it again.

I don't care how powerful Beyonce gets - I'll never go to see Devil Wears House of Dereon.
