LOL i love this caption. When I was concerned with fitting in, I bought those nasty cigs. Seriously, you would think that's an overstatement since cigarettes in general, are pretty nasty but Parliaments are gross. So I have to believe people smoke them precisely for the spoonability of the recessed filter which i dumb since a key works just fine.
@Helio: What are you talking about? Parliaments are great.
Back in the day (early 90's) I was quite the smoking connoisseur with a well developed love of French cigarettes. Parliament Lights were my everydays (because who can afford French cigarettes every day?). They are so much better tasting than your average American cigarette, PLUS they have a neutral, non-commercial packaging design.
Of course, I had to quit smoking, despite my serious love of it. Those filterless Gailoises and delightful Gitanes can tear a girl up after a while.
P.S. I suspect you thought Parliaments were nasty since you weren't really smoking them, just trying to fit in (*cough*posing). I recommend the book "Cigarettes are Sublime" if you want to understand something of the true appeal of smoking.
That is not technically a Manhattan store. It is the venerable business of Mr. Leonard Cecere, notary public, renter of post office boxes, owner of a photocopier and many celebrity headshots and wonderfully crabby Village character, where Miss K. picked up her shopping by mail.
