Be in great shape. We are. And if you're over 40, please let's not waist each others time. Nothing personal its just not our thing. No pic no response.*

Lifting of over 40 pounds is apparently not required.

    Nor are oral skills.

You think that’s bad, you should read the listing for OpenOrifice.

    Um.

    Sorry about that.

Employers are not required to accommodate disabled employees if the employees are not able to perform essential functions of the job. The job description is evidence of what is required in the job. The more you put in the job description, the better case for not having to accommodate a wider range of disabilities.

Either they are afraid of having to accommodate people, or they pay their lawyers way, way too much.

@formerly it takes a lot to laugh: There was a BBS thread on Mediabistro about a similarly-worded job posting. It was for a PR/events manager or something, and included all sorts of oddball things like, "must sit, and walk and occasionally crawl." A lot of posters got some snickers out of it, but a few people also chimed in and said it is some kind of ADA compliance thing and they've run across the exact same verbiage elsewhere.

That said, if I have to finger anybody for a reservation at Babbo, I'm keeping the damn reservation myself!

I think a lot of the wording may stem from ISO Certification blather as well.
