    I was in Tulsa many years ago and took a ride around the campus for giggles. The praying hands are even more horrifying in person. As I recall, they are modeled on Oral's own hands and include every little vein and bump of his old man hands. The campus was all done on a gold and white theme, all the buildings. the dorms looked like cheesy motels. There were two giant white domes covered with gold gridding next to each other, some kind of sports complex, that even had little nubbins at the tops to complete the mammary look.


    Do you think they had to lay off any of the statue polishers? Pigeon poop would only enhance the praying hands.

    My school had this vague interpretative sculpture on our lawn that was meant to represent the Sisters that founded our school or something; the best day of my life was the day a sixth former accidentally backed up and fell on it one lunchtime, and broke it.

    @Vivien Smith-Smythe-Smith: It's called "The Awakening," and it's really awesome and disturbing. And tough to find. Few DC residents know it's there, and even fewer tourists visit (though it's maybe a quarter mile from the Jefferson Memorial).
