    I have NEVER heard of them and am once again confused as hell as to how something like this or even Facebook, Gawker, etc. makes money.
    Does anyone actually READ ads on these web sites. No one I know has purchased something because they were on a web site and an ad enticed them...

    That's what everyone thinks. No one EVER admits to being susceptible to advertising. You probably don't even realize it, but I guarantee you've been influenced by online advertising in the past. We all have... even if you don't necessarily click through.


    Advertising works no matter what the medium is.
