Gawker just found out about Anna Piaggi?? She's dressed like this for the last 25 years I've been covering fashion (and who knows how long before that). Thank God I've been downsized.
I think I read someplace that there is an Italian law that forces all businesses to hire the mentally challenged and promote them as they would any other employee. Good for them.
Meanwhile, in a grimy alley a few blocks away, an organ grinder's monkey slowly regains consciousness, with a large lump on its head and missing a hat.
I love her and I think everyone else should as well. It would be so easy to put on a fab suit and have her hair perfectly coiffed, but this? This take a real sense of self, a sense i hope to never discover. She is also owning her look, s opposed to something contrived for publicity. Bella, bella, bella, e una donna che conosce la alta moda
@adiam7: But, but, but, she looks ridiculous. I know, its only one picture and I'm going to go google the hell out of her so I can see what you do and educate myself.
@Looker: I've never seen a shot of her where she wasn't done up like a combination of Isabella Blow and one of Fellini's wilder characters, and for that, I love her too. So much more interesting than the bird-boned Wintour's tans and charcoals and furs.
@Looker: Anna Piaggi probably doesn't even pick up the newspaper without the full hair, makeup and outfit. For her, clothes are art and she is NO minimalist.

Ridi pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!
Ridi del duol che t'avvelena il cor!

And for a second I thought that woman in the middle was Kate Moss.
