why do we keep giving this guy attention? part of the "punishment" for holding a woman captive and sexually assaulting her was to get sent to the slammer. now everytime it's halloween we get a check in with this asshole #crazies
@skahammer: Yep, it's been on all this time. Here's what I didn't know. Bill O' Reilly was on until 1995 and was replaced by Deborah Norville. She's been there for 14 years. It's been on 20 years too long. #crazies
Not sure why Inside Edition gets to make the determination of who's just plain harmless and who's most likely to gnaw on the hapless reporter's arm (Yes, someone please do this.) when they visit the jail for a little game of "Let's poke the inmate and see if he'll give us good TV."
It's really sad that going by these standards, every dastardly, raping crazed loon should get his fifteen minutes and maybe have a cereal named after him, right? Or am I just saying that it's okay to make random maniacs dancing monkeys for everyone's "entertainment,"…even their victims’. Yeah. Nice to know their ordeal has been trivialized and their abuser is now a tabloid correspondent. #crazies
@Spirit Fingers: It's weird, the one time I watched "To Catch a Predator" on NBC I felt empathy for the molesters. Don't get me wrong, I despise child molesters, but I got this sense of sadness for them. You have to be really fucked up yourself to want to rape or molest someone. Though I believe it is a crime that deserves hard time, I also don't wish to find entertainment in the prosecution of it, or the ramifications thereof.
@pony_express: Er, I meant that Braunstein's victim's ordeal has been trivialized by the show, and that essentially Inside Edition is turning him into a tabloid correspondent, because why else have him appear, if not to hawk their flailing show as something reputable in the entertainment gossip show community, and not just something you watch because it follows Dr. Phil or whatever myriad of court shows that dominates the down-market 4pm to 7pm time slot? #crazies
@Spirit Fingers: I understood your point about trivializing the victim's experience. I was just adding that I think exploitation is exploitation, none of this belongs on "entertainment" television. #crazies
so... you want I should be scared, or not even be scared?
based on what you wrote...both?
Braunstein is a moron who is desperate for attention, and the Daily News is just using him (like everyone else did apparently) in order to get some attention for themselves.
Unless he has some awesome scheme for breaking out of Dannemora and nuking the city, why should anyone be scared?
It's pretty sad for the people who he victimized and continues to mention by name that people just won't ignore this sad sack.
The article is idle fear-mongering. Of course you should take normal precautions, but he lured the victim from her apartment by setting fires or smoke bombs and posing as a firefighter.
How are you going to protect yourself from someone as crazily inventive and evil as that?
Good that the show about sex and headbands has a new "crazy guy barometer." Perhaps it'll make them think twice about all the gratuitous sex and sexual themes that occur on a show geared toward and starring teens. Nothing makes a girl more comfortable appearing in a bikini or flashing her panties somewhere, than a complete loon in prison for sexually assaulting someone for 13 hours saying she's the reason why he lives. Yikes, ew, Christ!

Well, that's subtle and objective. I didn't watch the video, as it took too long to load.
It actually is more effective to allow the reader to reach certain conclusions instead of being pounded on the head with them.
He's sick. The point is?
And "co-worker's" takes an apostrophe.
