In an effort to ensure the survival of three major Philadelphia media properties—the Inquirer, the Daily News, and Philly.com—owner and philanthropist H.F. Lenfest is donating each of them to the non-profit Philadelphia Foundation.

Both Major Philly Papers Bankrupt
So it's come to this: A city of 1.5 million people, Philadelphia, in which the two major metro dailies are now bankrupt. The city's Inquirer and Daily News filed for restructuring protection Sunday night.
