There is no saving. Either a private beneficiary comes forward or it's all gone. And good riddance; her disgusting consumerism is everything that everyone hates about the so-called rich.

Though I would have preferred Miley paired up with Smeagol/Gollum from LOTR, the Whoopi ad more than made up for it. Genius.

@Uncle_Billy_Slumming: The picture was taken in the past, so present tense doesn't fit. It must be past particple as in:

Holy shit, was that Nick Denton? Is that why the Gecko spoke with a cockneyed accent?

To which I would reply, No, that was just 5 shots of Jaeger at 4am.

The biggest problem with that Photoshop job is that the white guy's head is in an impossible position with respect to the body.

kinda funny how the Asian guy gets a pass... I'm sure there are Chinese restaurants in Warsaw like there are in every world city, but in a business setting it probably is all white soviet-lookin' folk.

This is the 2nd time such a thing occurred and got publicized. First time was Oglivy & Matter doing ethnic cleansing for the Ford Motor ad somethime around 1995.

I can't find the pictures anymore, but I've found an article in British press about the case:

Oh, and more by the way of history: authentic unretouched photo of Polish national soccer team from 2002.

I wonder which agency did the retouching this time.

I think the most blatant use of Photoshop is the smiles they superimposed on their faces. Who's that giddy during a company meeting?

Bwa ha. I hit this exact problem while designing an international interaction: we had to stop mixing all the minorities in with the white folk after user testing in the Polandy areas of Europe. Quite the wake-up call.

What Polish people have you been talking to? My in-laws are Polish and my father-in-law in particular is virulently racist. I have personally witnessed rants against blacks, Jews, Gypsies, Arabs, and Native Americans. He also has severe distrust for non-Catholics (this is related to, but separate from the anti-Semite thing).

This from a man who fought *against* the Nazis in WWII as a teenager. Oh, almost forgot. He also hates Germans.

@Trai_Dep: He was upset with the Nazis because they invade his home and tried to conscript him into their army. He didn't nessesarily disagree with their politics. And there is a large amount of self-hate going on, as the family's "dirty secret" is that they are, in fact, Gypsies.

It is somehow a common practise in some eastern european countries to replace african americans in corporate ads. I've seen that for example in Russia many many times.
