    I wonder if they address legal human trafficking in this campaign? The H1 and H2 visa programs for low-skilled, laborious temporary "legals" is rife with human trafficking and RICO violations. But it's good for business to have "at will" indentured servants you can screw over and deport at any time. #washingtonsquarepark

    The Irish pub I'm sitting in here in Vangroover hosted two of the members of the world's best bagpipe band, walking through and playing. And you know, all bagpipe songs sound the same in an enclosed space; like the sound a cat makes when you try to vacuum it.

    I think next year I've talked them into featuring my friend, the licensed firedancer. This should be amusing. #guyfawkesnight

    @kappakappaspankme: Well, we have fireworks on Jules 4th, right? Also Burning Man. Not an official holiday, but nevertheless the premier North American opportunity to dance around an enormous bonfire, tribal-style. Sadly for me, I loathe all things hippie and I'll never make it there.

    @snugbug: I am a card carrying member of the liberal elite and thus do not celebrate 04 July as I'm too un-Amerikkkan to do so. Besides, hot dogs have too many nitrates (like that's ever stopped me before).

    Shame on me for not thinking of Burning Man, though. Then again, bajas really don't suit my frame.

    If you think pouting and kicking a pebble is cute, you should see the starry eyed gaze that washes over me when I dream of Valborgsmässoafton, Gävle Julbock and any other excuse the Swedes use to burn things. #guyfawkesnight

    @nirreskeya: True. Camp fires in the Sequoias work quite nicely, too. On the other hand, I'm in Berlin right now, and fully expect the powers that be to regale us proles with some epic firey extravaganza on Nov. 8, the 20th-year anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall. #guyfawkesnight
