    What I find most ironic about Barney is that he was a gift to the Bushes from Christine Whitman, his EPA Secretary who was subsequently fired. She wrote a book about being a moderate Republican called "It's my party, too" and then disappeared into the New Jersey smog.

    That reporter was an asshole. You don't just quickly try to pet a dog like that. Barney is a lot smaller than him and probably didn't like his whiny, smarmy voice.

    @hhpeterson13: I didn't like his whiny smarmy voice either. And the woman with him who kept saying "Hi Barney! Hi Barney!" was driving me nuts, too.


    And the guy handling Barney was an idjet. Poor Barney needed him to step up and keep those people away from him. No dog should have to bite someone when his person is right there to protect him instead.


    The Barney Christmas thing is okay, but I'm a Springer Spaniel person and I loved Spot. When she died, I felt the only decent thing about the Bushes was gone.

    @LGFrog: She didn't get along with Buddy, so they sent her home with Betty Curry, Clinton's secretary, where she (still?) lives in a beautiful home with lots of windows and plenty of attention and no drooling dog.


    Rehoming a pet is not always the wrong thing to do especially when they are going to a better home. Socks was Chelsea's pet, but she went away to college and the Clintons otherwise had no time for her.

    It saddens me that the white house stopped updating the pictures of Barney as much as they used to. It showed that staffer had waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on their hands and a small dislike of Faith Based Director Jim Towey.

    Just a damn minute! That video shows another black terrier, a lady dog, by the name of Miss Beasley. Miss Beasley. Now I saw their body language. The nature of their relationship is clear as can be. Those dogs were having dangerous liasons all over the damn White House. And the Bushes didn't even force them to marry! Can you imagine, illegitimate black [dog] fucking all over that noble environs. Where is Miss Beasley NOW, Bush, if that's even her real name. I watched that whole inane Christmas video bullshit and I demand answers!!
