"Why not treat yourself to flying like a dog does?" (bad paraphrase, but still..)

I would like to send Jeff Zucker a letter laying out the 549,843 reasons why your show should not be taken off the air. If he does not mind, 549,842 of those reasons are basically variations of me telling him you are god. The 549,843rd reason is actually irrelevant. Where might I send this letter?
Herbal essences,
Aaron
P.S. I'm your biggest fan!!!

"Ha! That last line didn't work--you said 'sir'."
[Jack looks Liz up and down] "I think it worked just fine."

Yes. You may expect to walk in, be called to a jury and then help judge the fate of a human being. It's more likely that you'll judge whether her dog really was crapping on his lawn and, if so, if the owner liable for the dog's excretory activities? That sort of thing. Just saying. It's really hardly ever like TV.

Last time, though, I was honest and got picked as an alternate juror. I ended up not needing to go to the deliberations, but I sat in the jury box during the trial. It was a dental malpractice trial. Some probably thought it was boring, but I thought it was really interesting to see how the legal process actually worked in real life.
It was a very simple trial. The oral surgeon took the stand, the alleged victim took the stand, then an expert for each side. That was it. It came down to basically who we believed, because it was all just about whether what happened to this woman (she lost feeling in her face permanently after a wisdom tooth extraction) was foreseeable and preventable, and whether she had known the risks. She claimed she wasn't warned even though she had signed a consent saying she was, and her "expert" was a total shyster whose whole career was just testifying at trials. (The surgeon's expert was something like the head of the New York State Oral Surgeon Association.) I would have found in favor of the surgeon if I could have voted, and the rest of the jury obviously agreed - I cared enough to check the results later.
And being a salaried employee at that time, it really was like a 3 day vacation. The trial started at around 11AM every day and ended at like 2:30, with a lunch break in the middle. But I didn't tell my boss that; I told him we were going 9-5 :)
