I'm sure the White House Press Pool invitations have also been sent to Gawker & Wonkette.
John Cook, you should check the mail. If it's not there yet it should be on the way. Or maybe Wonkette got your invitation in their envelope by accident and they just haven't told you, hoping they can sell the extra invite to newsmax.com
The Washington Times and the NY Post are part of the pool, too. Aren't they "overtly ideological or opinionated organizations," at least as much as HuffPo is?
@Wendy_Kroy: Yes, but they maintain the fiction that their news pages are somehow insulated from their editorial partisanship. HuffPo and TPM and Salon don't pay lip service to that divide.
@Gabriel Snyder: But just imagine the days Cook is sick and you have to send Pareene in: fire extinguishers going off, pies being thrown in Helen Thomas' face...
The gambling potential of this device is just limitless. Also, if they can create proprietary files for their comic book content (Time Warner owns DC Comics), they will sell a godzillion of these things.
ahhh, video games! My husband works at a game studio, and while everyone we know is getting laid off, he got a fat bonus for meeting a milestone deadline. It's idiotic and soul-sucking work, but the benefits are awesome! what other industry can you get paid $90K a year and not own a pair of dress pant?
