I left my heart in SF.

It would actually establish a clear legal difference where the moral one already exists: between the evil pimps and the honorable prostitutes.

Is it progressive or regressive? Is the narrative Amsterdam or Human Trafficking? Is it health or Hustle and Flow? Or all of the above? Is it more intriguing that the issue largely transcends race and age or that it does not transcend gender? Or the stark gap between white men (most support) and black women (least)?
And that's before one even gets to the point of the post's headline, that prostitution is already more open in SF than anywhere I've ever lived, including (Giuliani-Bloomberg-era) NYC.
So let me know when one of you all write it. I'm looking forward to the read.

I love hearing people sneer at "San Francisco values" on FOX or wherever. San Francisco's "values" are deeply humane and geared towards fairness and equality. The rights of renters, working people, are strongly defended. Seeing kids playing everywhere, crime is negligible except in some areas. SF works as a city for everyone, not just for the rich, as in NYC, alas.
San Francisco is a jewel. Not perfect- the homeless situation is still Dinkinsian, and the women still commit fashion crimes, like dresses over jeans. Ultimately a small city, but a marvellous place that I do love.

Awww, you guys! You're making me love my city. :)
I was just at Rainbow last night! Promise me you'll listen to my show about SF when it launchs. Actually -- HEY!
Go vote for my show on the Knight News Challenge! Please-pleasepleasepleaseplease? Do it right now! Here's the link to my entry: [tinyurl.com] (You have to register, but it only takes a minute.)
SonicSF needs your vote! The show is public radio with a new, smart, engaging style best described as NPR meets Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development and the Colbert Report.
(Plus, people are being really competitive and voiting down stuff that gets rated highly. They aren't leaving comments when they give it one star, so I know they aren't voting it down because it isn't good. I mean, What's not to love?)
C'mon, help a fellow commenter out...! :)
