    If this dog passes the behavorial tests to make it over to the "adoptable" wing at Animal Care & Control, she'll have a decent shot at finding a home, and be in better shape when she gets there than she would be after being passed around among a series of well-meaning "fostering" idiots.
    ACC should be every New Yorker's first stop when looking for a new pet -- save a life! #sad

    @Clarence Rosario: I feel the same, it's so desperately cruel.

    I have two dogs (one's a rescue pup, and the other one is adopted), and my building won't allow any more.

    I hope that poor dog finds a good home. #sad

    Worse than Sarah McLachlan guilt. Sheesh. I would adopt that puppeh in a second, if I didn't already have two ferociously demanding kittehs (see: diabolical balls of rambunctious fur) at home, who could not deal with a doggie (see: plot his eventual submission and encourage his ability to fetch tuna from a can despite not having opposable thumbs) in our abode. So Sorry! But will pass the link on though. #sad

    @kneetoe: This is a debate that will not end. Toward? Towards? Stop the madness! But the Yeats original text is "towards," so did Didion pick that up, and now some anal-retentive/pedantic copyeditor at the NYT has Americanized it to "toward," thus defeating the riff. Ack!

    Wow. Jill Abramson sure has my personal number and knows how to bring out the Stalin-gothic censoring b*tch inside of me. Congrats! Under most any other similar circumstances I'd be fluttering the 1st Amendment flag up in support, but this grave-dancer lady makes me want to muzzle her. Or muffle her.
