Whatever. I'm betting you could find this at IKEA for $69.99. It's called the Bebeboxën and it comes with 15 wooden screws that don't fit into anything, because you should always live in fear of collapsing furniture. You also get free Swedish lingonberries with every purchase, because these are important items for a furniture store to sell. Yeah. Somebody overpayed.

I'd also be able to overlook the shoddy Scandinavian construction of many of these items if they were lined in Lindt chocolate. Just sayin.

That is more like a bassinet, which will be fine for about the first 3 months, then they'll need a crib that the kid can't roll/climb out of.

@depardoo: my brother's wife is pregnant. they don't have a whole lot of money, so they've been scouring resale shops for great deals. they found a really nice stroller at a resale shop and got very excited by the dirt-cheap price tag before noticing the ENORMOUS BROWN STAIN on the seat. Seriously, you're going to donate your kid's dump-stained stroller to a resale shop?

That's cute, last year my mom put my niece in a small basket so she could sit up and watch us without falling over, and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Babies don't care if they're in a $20,000 crib, and neither should we.

Also, this reminds me of my RISD foundations project where we had to build functional cardboard chairs without glue or tape. I guess hipsters are just art students gone into the urban wild.
