Elaine Chao and Norman Minetta? I wonder what Elaine's husband - Sen. Mitch McConnell - thought of that one! Too funny.

This is actually not so new--they've been together for about two months. I think I found this on Wikipedia when confirming to myself that this wasn't the Swingers Jon Favreau. Also, I would kill for Rashida Jones' life. At least for the part of it that had sex with John Krasinski.

@DahlELama: I didn't know they dated in real life! Was it around the time that their characters were dating on The Office? Did their characters break up before they did? That would be awkward.

Now I like Rashida Jones even more but with a slight tinge of jealousy. Sigh.

@VoxPopuli: Surprise! And actually, I think that yes, their characters did break up first, so they should've seen it coming. Frankly, I think I'm still holding out for John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer to get it together, but now she's marrying some guy and ruining everything.

I also thought it was dangerously close in everything to the office. But what Chris Reese posted above is true. The detail they showed about public meetings being filled with lunatics who just want to speak was spot-on perfect. Spend ANY night at your local City Council meeting and you'll see it's true.

I can't quite understand why they decided to post what is essentially the same exact show (literally) in between two episodes of the original. Is NBC sure that viewers are THAT easy? Why not put it elsewhere on the schedule? (Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know...That's NBC's "Comedy Block.")

Hopefully it develops further. Pohler is good. And it's only the pilot.

Not memorable AT ALL. Amy Poehler is great, but I'd rather see her on the big screen. Not in one of those awful SNL send off movies, but in something original that's all her. I think she's wasting her time with this little quirky show. We already know she's great. She just needs to shed NBC for the star-stifling bowl of used-to-be interesting Cous Cous it is, and go for it. And take Kristin Wiig with her, by God. She's not like Jaime Pressly who is fantastic on that Earl show I don't watch, but when I do, I'm crackin up. That, I will say, was a pleasant surprise. Poehler is just doing what we expect her to do.

Rashida, on the other hand, needs some cultivating. She could use a rom-commie show of her own to really shine. I was not impressed with her in I Love You, Man (Jaime Pressly actually stole many a scene from our girl Jones). She's still too raw, needs more time in the Ronco meat machine.

Amy Poehler pretends to have breast and constantly flaunts sex in an idealized image of self. It's about all making Amy a prostitute in your fantasy, the funny is just a ruse.

Don't fall for this bitches tricks. She's deceptive.

So, why would a nowhere town in Indiana have such a nice City Hall? Most city halls in places like that are flat, unremarkable buildings.

I loved the Indiana palms tress at City Hall.

Amy is a great actress but the Office-like approach was a mood killer.

How could you forget about Kevin Malone?! Anyways, I thought the show was unfortunate and it felt way longer than 22 minutes because it wasn't even remotely funny. Luckily, it was sandwiched between two awesome Office episodes (EGG IN MICHAEL'S CROCS!!) and a stellar 30 Rock that featured a Steve Jobs spoof.

I beg to differ on your assessment of Indiana as "boring." Any state that can produce James Dean, David Letterman, Steve McQueen, and Michael Jackson is anything but.

I didn't see Parks & Recreation, but I did laugh fairly hard at the "Country Roads" scene in The Office. I just need SOMETHING in my life to continue to be as enjoyable as it was two years ago, you know? Please, Office, you're all I've got.
