In reply to Chet from the Real World: Hoping Someone Would Notice Him On the 2 Train
I met him today at the Copley Place mall in Boston. Pink blackberry and all. He was dressed in "look at me look at me attire" (definitely stands out from most Bostonians) and was thrilled that I did a double-take as he was walking out of Barney's and I was walking to the mall bathroom. I saw him again while he was waiting for his sister (who I guess lives in Boston) and just HAD to fuel his ego and ask for his confirmation that he was indeed Chet from the Real World.

What is this strange iconography on their blankets? I don't understand it. Is there some sort of Rosetta stone with which I can decipher these alien glyphs? Do the colors have any significance?

I thought that The Real World had gotten too sleazy, but this season made me miss the slutty years. Also funny how the hot tub--prop for much merry making in the past--ceased to be unisex by this final episode.

Also, they made it look like a really long ride from the Real World house to Ikea, which is about five blocks away.

Little late, but just watched the Reunion special and, aside from hating Maria Menounos, I think Devyne (sp) needs to quit it with the wigs, yo.

We learned that the world is neither real nor made-up, but is absolutely worth being a part of.

When exactly did we learn this?

Richard, you have an open invitation to any of my dinner parties. You would totally make the convo delicious with your delicate and masterful mixing of the English language.

@The Real JR: I would invite Richard to my dinner parties too, but then no one would think I was funny or smart anymore. Everyone would like Richard best!

Also, my "dinner parties" usually consist of a few people eating take-out on my couch while we watch TV. So there's that.

First, dearly beloved Jesus the space alien, Richard, you make my sick days so much more enjoyable.

I watched most of the show during a Sunday marathon while doing some freelance work, so I didn't always catch the facial expressions and context. What bothered me was the weird hatred Ryan, JD and Chet seemed to have towards women, and caveat, I am not prone to seeing misogyny wherever I look or when it's convenient to do so.

I get Chet's jerkery because he's clearly threatened by women (I hate to be that person, but there is something going on in his pale xylophonic ribcage for Ryan). From what I read about JD, he had a disturbing childhood. But Ryan's antipathy and downright cruelty to Katelynn and Sarah is random and misplaced. Dude needs help.

We learned that JD's computer's spellcheck doesn't like "Katelynn" any more than the rest of us do.
