Anyone it advertising will tell you that (THESE) spec ads are a pain in the ass. They're rarely sold and they waste the time of the talent and the sales rep (and the company they're pitched to). A good spec ad is one that has a chance of making it on air.

@sybann: well, actually, the chance to create a prof. quality tv ad for your reel, assuming all your other spots suck, is not a waste of time at all. it can get you a job.

I actually think this isn't even a spec ad. Or if it is, it wasn't made by a German advertising agency.
The slogan at the end is completely wrong. The German slogan was "Gehorche deinem Durst" for "Obey your thirst" not "Befolgen Sie Ihren Durst".
Also, Sprite hasn't been using that slogan for a while in Germany, it's currently "Was wirklich zählt ist klar".
Also, the can at the end is a US can (it says 12 oz at the bottom.
And, the kitchen has US style appliances in it.

My guess is this is someone's fun video project made in the US with German thrown in to make it believable (Brüno! naked people on beaches and tv all the time in crazy Europe!)

Yes, writers do this with scripts. They put in something overtly filthy so that the lines that they really want, semi-hot double entendres that still might raise eyebrows in middle America, can make it in. See Laverne & Shirley, Squiggy's immortal line: "I'm losing my lust"; all of Mae West's scripts, etc.

It's what Dashiell Hammett claimed he did to get "gunsel" into the Black Mask version of The Maltese Falcon, I think. He put in a harmless word that the editor censored because it sounded dirty, and then also put in gunsel, which got past the lazy editor because he assumed it was gun-related.
