Yeah, I know some people--all women--who worked for Gawker Media full-time and were subsequently laid off because Nick and Gabe have a chilling fear of women. When they applied for unemployment insurance, Nick claimed they were "contract workers" and didn't qualify, despite the fact that they worked full-time, had no other primary means of support, and were required to attend regular staff meetings just as if they were the tech staffers who are paid as full-time employees. The State of NY found against Denton for the one woman who brought it to court. But how can the other women get justice from these sleezy cowards who flaunt state and federal law in order to save a few bucks?
