    I had a dream last night that I was at some event with my mother and Susan Boyle was scheduled to perform. I was frustrated because my mother didn't know who the hell Susan was.


    I was also surprised that it wasn't that big of a venue.

    I'm underwhelmed by most of the "stars" who comes out of these shows. But at least this one's got a few years on her, unlike the 20-year-olds who didn't have to pay dues.

    @NorthernLite: What do you want? She's a housewife. She's got the voice of a housewife. It only passingly resembles the voice of a trained singer. But a comparison to AI is apt. Compared to a lot of those twits, she's Maria frigging Callas.

    this is what she wanted. this is what many people want and she should remember that.


    it's like the line from ratatouille- anyone can cook.

    not EVERYONE can do this. but any 'one', you, me, susan boyle down the street, could.

    that's the whole point of these shows, that some 'everybody' can become a star...and hopefully we're watching more to cheer them on than shoot them down.

    I'm with you. I love her. The fact that she's slightly bonkers makes her even more appealing to me. She is just a genuine, sweet, guileless human being and I kind of loved that she had a temper tantrum backstage after she lost.


    I will buy any album she puts out.

Until they take away all your clothing that has drawstrings in it, confiscate your fountain pen and your journal because you could hurt yourself with the wire from the spiral binding and all you can do is look at the window as the sun sets and wish you could just once touch the grass or have a diet Coke.
