These two (among many) seem to amazingly come up with some attention-getting emotional stunts just at about the time they need to draw attention to some money-making activity.
I find their revelations about technology often not so revelatory.
I'd rather get my information from technologists who have subsequently learned journalism than from journalists (and other non-tech backgrounds) who struggle to understand technology having never "done it".
Damon Albarn's fascination with all things Pavement is what I credit with making his own band suck salty British balls following the amazing "Modern Life is Rubbish."
Blah blah blah, you know you liked Blur in the 90s, you know you still wear Fred Perrys and Sambas and you know I'm right.
@kolacek: Well, to be fair, I don't think we can blame Pavement for Blur's decline into suckage. It took two albums after Modern Life Is Rubbish for the Malkmus fetish to truly kick in, and one those was the dreadful Great Escape, the biggest turd they laid until 13.
But I agree, MLIR is underappreciated... and rules.
@flugangst: What the? 13 is one of the best albums ever made. God, shut up.
SHUT UP, ALL POSEUR MUSIC SNOBS. SHUT THE FUCK UP RIGHT NOW. DON'T SAY SHIT ELSE. NO ONE IS GOING TO THINK YOU'RE COOL OR WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU BASED ON YOUR SNOTTY CRITIQUES.
Okay. Thanks for letting me get that out of my system.
@Gwenishka: Girls will absolutely sleep with you based on your taste in music... but usually just the once so they can steal your records before you wake up.
Oh, we must cut the Tinz some slack. If you had to endure that wan brauschweiger while spread out on topper you, your mind would probably go on a field trip, too.
At times like this my ancestors on the Yankee side -- 10 generations of Southampton clamdiggers -- get the urge to arm themselves and take a peasant's revenge on those who have spoiled the name WASP.
