In a couple more quarters they might just turn this around, of course by that time the newspapers be paying the advertisers to take pages.

You remember when Spiderman couldn't fly anymore because flying was so Superman but he tried anyway and fell from on high and his drop was retarded in more ways than one but this one by a canopy over a door on the ground floor?

    He hit the street anyway.

@Tremonius: His call while he was up high was "I'm back!" but when he hit the pavement it was "My back!"

The ad decline is bound to stop. Once ads hit zero.

@Valerie Flame: Is it so? There were famous spots for a waitperson in a classy joint for which the prospects would pay the management for the positions because tips were astronomical. So salary costs for these positions were in the negative numbers.

Perhaps sometime next year the big newsies will pay for the right to brag that Apple advertises with them.

"Salon" is a wobbly euphemism for "Chicken Ranch."

First they fired Froomkin and now they're selling--let's just be honest--favorable coverage in their newspaper to insurance and pharmaceutical companies on the eve of the big health care reform debate?

What's next? Somali pirates driving the delivery trucks? A Lydon Larouche column?

It went out before the email list was properly vetted, that's for damn sure.

Just tucking into lunch when I saw that picture of Rove cutting a rug. I promptly puked into my wastebasket.
