These people are Goodfellas. Their wives are married to a mob of Goodfellas. They could even rename their company Goodfellas Sax. In the movie, the robbers were reminded not to go around buying Cadillacs and minks. In real life, Cads and furs are no longer the style. Otherways, no difference.
I don't know why you used this picture to illustrate this story! Susan Solomon (on left) is the tireless co-founder of the New York Stem Cell Foundation and this photo was taken at a reception in East Hampton where an update was provided on the efforts of NYSCF to fund ground breaking research for cures for diseases such as diabetes etc. It's not a bunch of rich headfunders...beside her is a serious scientist and member of the board...wrong people to illustrate this story!
@LindsayHaemarrhoid: What about the bald guy on the far right that looks like Lex Luthor junior with a soul patch? Is he a swimmer or a rich guy hoping that stem cell research would rejuvenate his follicle growth?
@son of spam: Blankfein, Goldman's CEO? He looks a little too young but I'll take your word for it.
This picture makes perfect sense now because the other guy in the picture is Roy Geronemus, a dermatologist, hardly a "serious scientist." Blankfein is probably promoting stem cell research advancement so he can receive stem cell treatment at some point from a celebrated dermatologist to regrow the luscious mane he once had. Even baldness solution for the rich is different from the proletarians.
