@Vivien Smith-Smythe-Smith is not your Bible Spice: Has everyone forgotten that Putin was Time's Man of the Year this year?? Don't think subliminal is quite what they were going for with that one. More like history.
@MoscowNeverSleeps: Oh, I meant that the other three covers were presidential/veep candidates in this election, and that seeing as the Republicans love to decry Obama as Socialist, it's an interesting choice for a background.
I think there will be two Persons of the Year. The Negro Muslim for "Fake America Person of the Year" and "Joe the Plumber" for "Real America Person of the Year."
@if_i_only_had_a_heart: Sure thing. We'll just need you to fill out this questionnaire... you'll have to be vetted of course... can't have the "Person of the Year" be too dodgy...
@NefariousNewt, Democratic Poll Challenger: Or, we could just pick if_i_only_had_a_heart because he/she is a surprise choice who will energize Time readers for a few weeks, then simply claim we vetted him/her.
Nobody should be surprised if they go with "The American Voter" or something equally as generic.
But the President thing rings true: FDR was chosen not once, not twice, but thrice! Though technically, if Obama wins on Tuesday, he won't be a "sitting President" until 2009.
